Helping Peru's Children

If you know me or have read this blog before, you know that I had the opportunity to travel to Peru for several months last year. The purpose of my trip was to improve my Spanish and to work with abandoned and orphaned children. While there I was able to participate with the Project Corazon. Their blog is featured on the right. Please take a moment to link to their site and watch the top two videos. The fist will give you a glimpse of the community and the children served by this outreach program. The second is a story about a baby girl; the story is moving and sad. It is a story that no doubt has taken place many, many times in countries around the world. For this reason, we should all be aware of the world around us and consider what we can do to help.

Vacation Bible School

At times in my life the search for a church home has felt difficult and illusive. After moving to North Alabama a couple of months ago, however, I visited a small church and immediately felt welcome and comfortable. I have enjoyed getting to know the other members of the congregation. Last week was VBS. We had a great turnout and a lot of fun (as you can see). Thank you to all of the volunteers who worked so hard to make the week successful.
